Hi and welcome to All That's Left Are The Crumbs. My name is Felice and I live in Honolulu, Hawaii with my husband and four daughters.
I grew up in Australia and my love of baking started around 7th grade when I was in a Home Economics class at school. Of course we cooked lots of foods in the class, but baking just made me happy. Baking is what I find relaxing and rewarding. There is something about seeing the look of bliss on someone's face after they have taken a bite of your banana bread, or scones, or brownies, or cheesecake, or........well you get the idea. Even when the recipe does not work out exactly as I want, I love that I still have a receptive audience in my family and friends who will happily eat my "mistakes".
My blog began in August of 2009 out of my love of baking delicious treats. I wanted to be able to document my journey and share the recipes with my family and friends. It has become somewhat of a passion and I have made some amazing friends who are so generous with their knowledge and encouragement.
In my spare time I love to read cookbooks and magazines, and sometimes I find the time to get to the gym. I have a large collection of cookbooks - 600 and counting! I am hoping that this blog will give me a reason to open all of those cookbooks that are sitting on my shelves gathering dust. Most have been lovingly read - I am guessing that I am not the only person in the world who reads cookbooks like they are novels - but I just haven't gotten around to actually cooking from many of them. I also have a huge pile of "to try" recipes that I really should get around to actually trying. Who knows what gems may be hidden in that pile of paper? Trying out these recipes is documented each Tuesday in my "To Try Tuesday" post.
